Review of 2024 Calendar of Events

Coffee County Fair – 30 Aug – 7 Sep 2024 – Higher traffic days are Wednesday – Saturday, September 4th (Sr Citizens’ Day) through Sep 7th.  Friday September 6th is Youth Day and all Manchester City School Kids have a field trip.  Sign Up sheet will be sent around at July/Aug meetings.

Tom Cowan Turning Bee has been slipped to Saturday, September 14th, at The Church of the Nazarene, Decherd.  Cost is $10 per person

Club Picnic Saturday, Sep 21st @   Falls Mill 11am-2pm

Show & Tell

Jim Jolliffe repaired a 3-legged, cherry side table and a rocking chair made of mahogany/oak. He also showed us cherry finials turned by Paul Pitts.

Rick Laws showed us 2 Cannon Ball whistles made of Walnut and finished with BLO.

Garry Bennett displayed his Christmas ornaments made from Box Elder and Mahogany. He used Sanding Sealer Poly to finish them.

Billy Tiller showed us Rooster napkin holders made from Maple and Oak.

Vince Zaccardi turned  several candle holders for tea lights using various wood types. He also showed us a candle holder he turned out of Cypress.  He also showed us an antique scale that automatically calculated the price of an item through a look-up table on the scale that correlated the weight and price/pound of different items.
