We were saddened to lose TVW member John Hartin. We showed a few samples of John’s work and discussed his support for woodturning and mentoring of all who sought it.

EVENTS
October has been, and continues to be, a very busy month.
Thanks to all who helped. Tim’s Ford Fall Festival on the 5th!
John Hartin Funeral will be held on October 19th 10-12 visitation with service following.
Rich Wetherbeee Carving Seminar 19-20, Jim Jolliffe’s shop.
TVW Craft Fair/Tool sale on Oct 26th At St Barnabas Episcopal Church, 110 E. Lincoln St Tullahoma. Cost: none, No Vendor Fee! Set up Saturday morning 7-8am. Let Jim know if you plan to attend and how many tables you will need.
November and December events:
Tuesday, November 19 – Jim Poteet’s Tool Auction for TVW Members. Look for an email with the minimum bids. Bidding will occur at the next club meeting on Nov 19. Pickup will be on Saturday, Nov 23. A list of vehicles will be needed in advance to gain access to the gated community.
Saturday, December 7th – TVW Christmas Party Lunch 11am-2pm, St Barnabas Episcopal Church, 110 E. Lincoln St, Tullahoma. Club will provide main course and drinks. Members bring sides and desserts to share..`
Show & Tell
Rick Dickson displayed 2 boxes using Walnut and Maple and used Antique Oil Finish.
Mike Zuccaro brought 4 items. A Backgammon Board using Oak, Walnut and Cherry; a Chess board using Oak and Walnut; a Recipe Bookstand out of Walnut. These 3 were finished with oil. For his Acoustic Guitar he used local Cherry, Rosewood, Ebony, and Spruce and finished it with French Polish.
Brenda Zuccaro made a small collapsible, fretwork, Christmas Tree which was made from Cherry and cut with a scroll saw. It was finished with oil and spray gloss.
Richard Gulley showed us a laser engraved box he made to hold silverware along with Dog bone shaped Santa letters. He also showed us Jesus, O Holy Night, and Let it Snow ornaments. These were finished with spray paint and glitter glue.
Jim Jolliffe displayed several basswood carvings he completed including: A cowboy “Pard”, the “Small Brawl”, a “Ghoulish Gargoyle”, and a “Jam Night” guitar playing cowboy. These were finished with boiled linseed oil, acrylic paint wash and rattle can lacquer.
Tony Murphy brought in one of two End Tables he made out of cherry with maple drawer sides with half-blind dovetails for his mother using a Greene and Greene publication.
