October 1995
Old Business
Plans for the
picnic have been finalized. You should not bring more than five items for the
auction whether you are donating them or not. The pre-school and Mrs. Williams
at the First Presbyterian Church in Tullahoma thank us for the bookcase donated
in Bill Chew’s name.
New Business
This coming year
is the tenth anniversary of our club. Tom Church, Tom Cowan, Jack Townsend and
Henry and Judy Davis form a committee that will begin preparations for celebrating
this event. The notice of the picnic will be sent to all former members of the
club to join us in a kick-off celebration. They will also look into any
publicity that we can generate, such as a picture of the charter members.
Bill Whiteaker
has had a stroke. Please send him a card and your best wishes if you can.
Program
Harry Buchanan
from Alabama gave a great demonstration of green stick chairmaking. He doesn’t
use power tools, and his program was very informative.
Show and Tell
Chuck Waggoner
brought a beautiful wig stand that he made. Torn Cowan brought some turned and
painted bowls, and Henry Davis brought an old drawer that he was remaking and
showed us his technique. Murrell brought more of his great walnut lamps and
showed us the steps he used to make them.
Next Meeting
The next meeting
will be October 17th at 7pm at Duck River.
For Sale
Jim VanCleave
has a I hp 10’, Craftsman table saw for sale. He’s asking $225 for it.
