TENNESSEE VALLEY WOOD WORKERS

.

SPLINTERS                                                                                      JULY 1994

For the curious... Yes, the corn was as high as an elephant’s eye by the Fourth of July.. that’s the way it measured up out here in the Farrls Chapel community and other suburbs of greater Belvidere. A few skeptics might question the stature of our standard corn measuring elephant. We’re always pretty corny around here.. no matter what the weather is. Thus far the Summer has been a kind one here in middle Tennessee, enough rain, enough sun, good corn, good tomatoes.... it doesn’t get any better. Now for sum wizdum

• Beware of people who say they’re going to “take care of it as if it were their very own...pretty soon it is.

* How many people work for the U.S. government?? .. None!!

TV FOR THE IMMATURE HANDYMAN

If you can’t stay young you can stay immature ... just watch the Red Green show on Nashville Public TV (CH8 6PM on Saturday). Every show has a brief Handyman sector that will help you develop finer skills with Duct Tape and Chain Saws, making surf sailors from patio tables. Red’s best advice comes at the end of every handyman segment when he reminds his viewers “If the women can’t find you handsome at least they can find you handy.”
