TENNESSEE VALLEY WOODWORKERS          APRIL ‘92

SPLINTERS

The mystery continues!!! Last month at newsletter time we were certain that spring had sprung and winter was all behind us like a bad dream. No sooner had we printed our optimistic prognostications of an early spring, Mother Nature came along and blew us a nasty reminder of Winter.   Well... is it really Spring?? Is it safe to plant tomatoes and peppers or does Mother Nature have just one more surprise up her Sleeve?

A MARVELOUS MARCH MEETING

Thank You Once Again!!! to Mike & Mary Sharp, Cindy and IJTSI for a most excellent program. We’ve had many excellent comments on the laser woodburning demonstration.

Mike struck a fine balance between education and practice... something easier said than done. I’m certain that Mike maintains this balance in his daily work as well.. .we are fortunate to have him and his talents right here in Middle Tennessee.

PREPARE TO DANCE AN APRIL “JIG”

The third Tuesday falls late this month. Our meeting will be on April 21, 7:00 at the Duck River Building in Decherd. Be prepared to “do jigs”. Ross Roepke has graciously “volunteered” to demonstrate several of his jig and fixtures. Ross puts jig making in the same category as furniture making.. .it’s all fun. I imagine he has even made a jig to make a jig. Bob Reese has also graciously consented to demonstrate gluing and clamping jigs and fixtures. We solicit your participation.. .bring your favorite jig or fixture to “Show and Tell”.
