LET’S ALLWELCOME “OCTOBER’S BRIGHT BLUE WEATHER”. IT CERTAINLY IS WELCOME AFTER OUR MOST RECENT MONSOONS. WE HAVE HAD OUR SHARE OF UNUSUAL WEATHER THIS YEAR. SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER THIS YEAR HAVE BOTH HAD “EARLY” THIRD TUESDAYS... IF YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. I

LIKE TO REFER TO THEM AS “SNEAKY TUESDAYS”. THAT’S WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE CALENDAR AND REALIZE THAT THE NEWSLETTER IS UNWRITTEN AND NEEDS TO BE MAILED TOMORROW.

SHOW AND TELL ITEMS. THE CHRONICLE WILL BE INTERVIEWING MEMBERS AND THEIR WORK. THIS IS

AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL MEMBERS  TO HELP PUBLICIZE OIJR CLUB, SO DON’T FORGET. DON’T WORRY IF IT’S SOMETHING SOME OF US HAVE SEEN BEFORE.WE’VE GOT PLENTY OF NEW MEMBERS WHO HAVEN’T SEEN SOME OF OUR OLD TRICKS. PLEASE TRY TO ARRIVE NICE AND EARLY SO THE NEWSPAPERWILL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO TALK TO EVERYONE.

RICHARD GULLEY WILL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF CRAFT ITEMS FOR THE NORTH JUNIOR HIGH HARVEST FESTIVAL -- TO BE HELD OCTOBER 28TH. IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY DONATIONS, COME TO THE FESTIVAL AND BRING YOUR MONEY.

 

BY THIS TIME, RICK DUNCAN HAS PROBABLY MOVED TO CLEVELAND, OHIO.  IN THE SHORT TIME THAT PIC.. WAS A MEMBER OF OUR CLUB HE PROVIDED US WITH A FINE PROGRAM ON COMMERCIAL FINISHING AND SENT THE NORTON SANDPAPER MAN, TO EVERYONE’S ENJOYMENT. RICK, THANKS FOR THE

DEPARTING GIFT OF SANDING BELTS AND SEND US YOUR FORWARDING ADDRESS.

HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHAT IT’S LIKE TO DROWN STANDING UP IN THE HARDEST RAIN THIS DECADE? HAS MOSS STARTED TO GROW ON YOUR BACK? NOVEMBER 4 AEDC CHRISTMAS SHOW TO BE HELD AT THE NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY IN TULLAHQMA. BOOTHS ARE $15 AND $25 DEPENDING ON SIZE.  CONTACT MECHELE VANDERGRIFF 454-6084

NOVEMBER 17,18,19 JUNIOR WOMEN’S LEAGUE TO BE HELD AT THE CIVIC CENTER ON SOUTH JACKSON. COST $50 CONTACT MARSHA WAHL 455-3309

 

 

EVEN THOUGH SOME OF US GOT THOROUGLY DRENCHED AT THE SHOW HELD AT OLD STONE FORT, WHE HAD A GREAT DEAL OF TIME TO DO SOM TALKING.  TOM GILLARD TALKED TO THE FOLKS WHO RAN THE SHOW AND THEY SEEMED MORE THAN WILLING TO COOPERATE WITH US FOR SETTING UP A BOOTH AS

AN ORGANIZATION LIKE WE DO AT THE DECHERD SHOW. THEY WOULD PROBABLY LET US HAVE SEVERAL BOOTHS. THESE FOLKS HAD TOUGH LUCK WITH THE WEATHER, BUT THEY FED THE CRAFTSMEN THAT SHOWED WITH A DELCIOUS BRUNCH ON SUNDAY MORNING.  WE CAN TALK ABOUT THIS NEXT YEAR.

 

OLD TIMEY DAY

 

IT WAS A CHILLY OCTOBER MORNING WHEN THE TENNESSEE VALLEY W000WORKERS SET UP FOR OLD TIMEY DAY. CUT OF THE BACK OF BATTERED PICKUPS APPEARED THE CRUSADERS READY TO DISPLAY ALL THEIR WORLDY GOODS. THE SUNSHINE SOON EMERGED ANDWITH IT A RESPECTABLE CROWD.  OUR SPECIAL THANKS TO THE PARTICIPANTS THAT MADE OUR CLUB LOOK SO ORGANIZED AND  PROFESSIONAL  LAST SATURDAY -- JACK TOWNSEND, PHIL BISHOP, BILL MOYE, WINFIELD BENNETT,HENRY DAVIS, AND TOM AND MARY COWAN. IF WE MISSED ANYONE , BE SURE TO GRAB YOU MOMENT OF GLORY AT THE NEXT MEETING.
