SPLINTERS
TENNESSEE VALLEY WOODWORKERS FEBRUARY 1969
February is one of those high pressure months. Why do we pack so many high pressure occasions in just one month?? It starts right out with Ground Hog Day then moves right into Valentines day followed by President’s Day (really two days). One year the pressure was so intense that I crossed Ground Hog Day with Valentine’s Day .... a mistake I’ll never make again.

NEXT MEETING
Richard Gulley has arranged to have our very own Bill Moye to demonstrate woodburninq some of us have been deeply involved with woodburninq through the cold snap last week.
For those of you that haven’t seen any of Bill’s fine work,
he uses a tiny electric burner to detail feathers on some of the birds and
other critters that he carves. Be prepared to see a lot of talent combined with
a side order of patience
can produce. Bring a quest~ neighbor, friend, or better yet, a spouse...that
ought to make up for Valentines Day.
While
we’re an the subject of important dates in FEBRUARY, write this one down --February 21
TUESDAY evening 7:00
PM at the Duck
River building in Decherd. Don’t miss the next TENNESSEE VALLEY WOODWORKERS
MEETING. SEE YOU TUESDAY.
Don’t forqet everyones favorite——Show and Tell. Bring something to share with us——recent protects, a new tool, or an idea or thought for another program or activity. Some of our old business will include getting up an order for some Tennessee Valley Woodworkers chapeaus.
BOOK SHARING
During our last episode, you may recall, we heard Bill Move say. “Let’s share our woodworking books.” Then we heard some talk of building some kind of shelf. Being one of those “well intentioned woodworkers”. I’m not expecting to find a woodworkers book shelf appear at our next meeting.
I am planning on bringing my woodworking books to share. Everyone is encouraged to bring a book or two to share. If you mark your books, we’ll try to have some 3 X 5 cards to help us keep track of things. PLEASE participate -- one of the finest assets of Tennessee Valley Woodworkers has been the sharing of ideas and information. This can evolve into a real bonus for all of us.

GENERAL COMMENTS
During the past few months, we’ve seen quite a few new faces as our gaggle of members has increased, it’s difficult for us to remember names and faces, let’s not become a club of strangers. Introduce yourself -- shake a hand. Another personal reminder. keep us informed of the health and well being of our members and their families.
