EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
JANUARY 23, 2018
In attendance:

President Karen Brownng called meeting to order 3:45pm.
Karen opened discussion on plans for the year.
Turning Bee – April 21st (weekend after April 17th meeting)
Picnic – June 23rd ? Depending on available of Falls Mill
Tool Sale – May 19th (weekend after May 15th meeting)
Christmas Dinner – December 7th Decherd
Carving Seminar – Fall TBD
Tims Ford Heritage Day – Oct 13th
Seminar – TBD July or August -Loyd will check with Ronnie Young for program
Shop Tours – Paul Jalbert will attempt to find chairperson.
Coffee County Fair – 2017 decision not to participate continued.
Joe Ferraro will check with Larry Wendland on disposing of club lathe not worth
repairing.
Treasurer's Report – Paul Jalbert reviewed report and given approval.
Discussed fees for club events and decided that a fee should be charged and
collected in advance if appropriate.
Reviewed give back projects and suggested ways to improve control.
Given approval to do away with visitors log as not needed.
Discussed involvement of Advisory EC Members. Loyd referred members to consult
the “Practices” page on the website to understand the concept. It was pointed
out that this is a tool to get more members involved in Club governance.
Paul Jalbert went over the removal of those from membership list for non-payment
of dues. He will work with Chuck Taylor to accomplish this.
Club Projects - Executive committee must approve projects that club take on but
will not interfere with projects that members volunteer for that are not club
projects. Paul will send to Loyd guidelines for club projects involving outside
persons or charities to include purpose and budget. Loyd informed committee that
on web site policy and procedures on club are posted.
Henry Davis who has been acting as unofficial historian wants to pass
information to someone in club. Paul Jalbert will contact Henry and work with
him to preserve club's history.
Committee discussed past president Paul Fulks service to club and have decided
to honor him at February meeting.
Discussion about the web site. Richard Gulley informed committee that site is
registered. He will work with Loyd Ackerman to preserve club information.
Chuck Taylor will update club brochures and business cards and see about having
them printed.
