The Program for the meeting
The Program was put on
by Tom Cowan and Paul Fulks called “From Picture to Plan Layout”. Tom Cowan
discussed how to take a picture of an item and then convert it to a drawing
plan. He explained the problems with distortion in the photograph and how to
compensate for it in the actual working plan. He stated that when taking the
photograph that the corner closes to you had the least amount of distortion.
Paul Fulks present a web sit called “woodgears.ca”. This web site had a program
available called “Big Print” which is a down loadable program. This program will
enable a person to make multi page accurate scale printouts comprised of
individual sheets printed on an ink jet or laser printer. The cost of the
program is $22.00.
Paul also discussed how a person could take a photograph,
scan it into a computer, and by using Excel, Word, or other available programs
on the computer create a scaled drawing.
