Harold Hewgley called the meeting to order.
Guests Mike Carroll, Ruth & Maurice ryan, John Mayberry and Sean
Metric were welcomed.
Old
business - Adventure Mountain will be built May 26-31st. Call Steve Arnold at 967-1029 to
volunteer. Spring seminar - D.
McConnell reported that carving, decrotive
finishing, sharpening, steam bending and basket making will be
presented. May 30th is the date at the
Foothills craft shop. Cost is $5.00
prepaid or $6.00 at the door. Falls mill
artisan show will be August 22, 1998.
New
business - D. McConnell suggested that the club consider a demonstration booth
at the Coffee County Fair.
Show
& Tell - R. Roepke - a table leg that he’s constructing for his daughter,
W. Bennett - two carved walking canes, L. Ackerman - box elder bowl, buckeye
and walnut candle holders, J. Sargent - chittum natural edge bowl, T. Church -
box elder bowl with wax and lacquer finish, B. Reese - violin # 7 with a
demonstration by Carl Smith accompanied by John Sargent and Richard Gulley Will Mills has a new wood miser. He is looking for work for his new
machine. S. Graham - wood mallets and
string wrapped mallet, scrap book and texturing tool, M. Brown had a show and
tell item which I failed to record.
The
program was presented by Louise Green on tole painted craft items.
